Industrial Roofing Guide

A practical overview of how industrial roofing systems are selected for factories, warehouses and commercial facilities.

Industrial roofing is more than covering a building. The system has to work with the structure, climate, drainage path, insulation needs and how the facility operates day to day.

Start with the requirement: building use, clear span, slope, existing structure (for renovation), and whether thermal control or daylight is important. Those inputs narrow the range of suitable systems faster than browsing product catalogues alone.

Common material and profile families include PPGI, PPGL, GI, Galvalume finishes, trapezoidal profiles, standing seam systems, insulated panels and polycarbonate inserts. Each has trade-offs around corrosion behaviour, jointing, aesthetics and maintenance.

Accessories and detailing often decide performance: flashings, gutters, penetrations, ridge treatment and interface with walls or skylights. A good sheet specification can still fail if water paths and fixings are poorly resolved.

For quotations, share approximate area, location, drawings if available, preferred system notes and any renovation constraints. Clear inputs lead to clearer technical discussions.
